“Young, P. H., Fireman, Merchant Service.
He volunteered in September 1914 and during the war served on board several vesse.s, including H.M.T. “Oympic”. Until 1916 he was on board a patrol boat sailing between Portsmouth and the Mediterranean and then carried out important salvage duties in various waters. On March 10th 1919, he unfortunately died in St. Vincent Hospital, New York and was entitled to the General Service and Mercantile Marine War Medals.
