Henry James Bartholomew

In 1911, Henry and his wife Florence Minnie Bartholomew were living at Melrose, Upper Hill Lane, Southampton. They had been married for 4 years and Henry was a Town Sergeant. He had previously been a member of Southampton Police Force.

Henry enlisted with the Royal Berkshire Regiment and embarked for France with the 6th Battalion on 25th July 1915. He was killed in action on 8th May 1917 and is buried in the London Cemetery, Neuville-Vitasse, which is a village about 5 kilometres south-east of Arras.
