There is very little Census information readily available on Frederick or members of his family.
His father was also called Frederick and his mother was Mary A., who was born in Devon in 1867.
Frederick had 1 known sibling, a brother…..Thomas Charles was born in Hanover Square in 1886 and died in Southampton in 1958.
Frederick married Grace Hancock in Hanover Square in 1912. Grace was born in Margate in 1886 and lived to the ripe old age of 98 years, passing away in Southampton in 1984.
Frederick and Grace appear to have had one son and lived in Janson Road, Shirley.
Anthony Frederick b. 23 March 1916 Southampton d. 1991 Romsey Married Olive Lane in Southampton in 1940.
Frederick died in the Royal Naval Hospital, Windmill Road, Gillingham of an unknown illness.
A large naval section in the cemetery was reserved by the Admiralty and deceased naval personnel from the hospital fill the plots in this section.
The cemetery contains 835 burials and commemorations from WW1, 82 of which are unidentified.
Frederick’s headstone reads: “God’s finger touched him and he slept.”
