Family Life Before The War.

Frank Edward Salmon was born inDecember  1898 in Alverstoke Hampshire, his parents were Henry Thomas Salmon 1876 who was a painter and born in Gosport and his mother Sarah A (1873) born in Wiltshire. He had 3 brothers Henry G 1897, Albert (1903) Frederick (1906) and 3 sisters Dorothy (1899) Gladys (1908) and Olive (1911).

The family lived had 4 rooms at 25 Union Road. Southampton.

Military Service

Frank enlisted as a Boy 1 rating with H.M.S. Agincourt. It developed the nickname of GIN PALACE.

He was awarded the Victory Medal, BritishMedal, 15th Star.

Frank died in Southampton in the summer of 1918 at the age of 19 years.

H.M.S. Agincourt was built for Brazil and named Rio De Janeiro, it was launched in 1913, she took part in the Battle of Jutland in 1916.
Agincourt was put in reserve in 1919 and sold for scrap in 1922 to meet the terms of the Washington Naval Treaty.
