Life before the War
Frank’s father was Alfred John who was born in 1863 Poole, Dorset and died in 1937. His mother Emily Ellen nee Orchard was born in 1862 and christened on 30th November 1862 in Wool. Dorset she died in 1906.
Alfred and Emily married in 1883. After his wife Emily died, Alfred married Florence E Elliot in 1928 Southampton. Florence was born in 1870 and died 1939.

In the 1901 census Frank was living with his grandparents Francis and Ellen. They were living at 48, Cliff Road, Southampton.Frank was employed as a Clothing Apprentice. There is no trace of his parents and siblings in 1901.
In the 1911 census, Frank was living at 22, Wyatt Street, Kettering, Northamptonshire, where Frank was registered as a boarder. He was working at a Printers Business as a Book Binder.
Franks’ father Alfred, now a widower, was living at 2, Ancasta Road, Southampton with some of his children. His son Alfred was working as an Engine Driver and Albert was a Hair Dresser. Alfred James was a Gentleman’s Outfitter and was living as a boarder at 22, Pevensey Road, Eastbourne, Sussex. William was living at 19, Radcliffe Road, Southampton, with his aunt, he was a Shop Assistant.
In 1915, Frank married Ada A Freeman in Kettering, Northamptonshire.
