Facts about Charles’ battalion are thin on the ground, but they arrived at Boulogne on 9 March 1916.
Charles actually died in Sparrow Hall Hospital in Liverpool. This suggests his battalion was used in Germany after the Armistice and that he may have been taken ill when in Germany.
