Life before the War
Albert was born 1890 in Beccles, Suffolk.  His parents were George David born 1860 Beccles, Suffolk and Mary Ann, nee Preston, born 1857 Thurlton, Norfolk.

His 10 siblings were:

In the 1881 and 1891 censuses the family were living at Peddars Lane, Beccles, Suffolk.  George David was working as a Carpenter Journeyman.

They had moved to Jones’s Score, Beccles by the 1901 census.  George was still working as a Carpenter.  Arthur was employed as a Bricklayers Labourer.

The family had moved again by 1911 and lived at 26 Newmarket Row, Market Row, Beccles.  George junior was working as a Tanners Labourer, Arthur was employed as a Grocer’s Assistant and married to Lilian who had joined the household, Albert was working as a Foundry Labourer and Victor was a Baker’s Assistant.  Their father George David was a patient at Beccles Hospital, Fair Close Road, Beccles.

Between the 1911 census and the deaths of George and Albert in WWI, some of the family had moved to Southampton living at 74 Orchard Lane.  George David died in 1944 in Southampton.
